Making invisible work visible
Every organisation has two versions of its work: the official version — the strategy decks, the OKRs, the roadmaps — and the real version. The real version lives in people's heads, in Slack threads, in the tasks that never make it onto any plan.
Leaders make consequential decisions — about structure, headcount, investment, and strategy — based on the official version. The gap between the two causes harm. Misallocated resources. Burned-out people. Duplicated effort. Goals that don't connect to anything real.
Our mission is to close that gap — giving every team a fast, honest, bottom-up map of what they're actually doing.
BlobMap is built on one conviction: the people doing the work are the only reliable source of truth about it. We don't extract data from systems or run top-down surveys. We give contributors a structured way to describe their own work — and then surface the picture to the people who need to make decisions.
We believe this kind of clarity should be fast. A typical engagement with BlobMap produces actionable insight in weeks, not months. It should also be safe — contributors share what they do, not what they think management wants to hear.
And we believe the gap between real work and official work is one of the most consequential — and most ignored — problems in organisational life. Closing it is the work.
